School's Out for the Summer...

Miley finished up her first year of preschool on Thursday.  This year has flown by, and I am so glad I was able to put her in this year.  She has LOVED going to school.  On the few days that I did keep her home for being sick, she was always crying, and trying to pretend that she felt well so that I would let her go (I will remind her of this in a few years when she is begging me to stay home from school, right?).  She has made some good friends, and her teachers have been WONDERFUL!

We got to go to an end of the year celebration for her class on Thursday.  They had an "Olympic" theme, so there were lots of activities that fell into that theme.  

When we first got there, they had tables lined up in the back of the room with pictures on it from throughout the year.  They had enough copies of the pictures, so that you could take a copy of every picture your child was in.  I thought that was a neat little touch, because it let us see some of the things we didn't get to experience from the year.

The kids then came in and sang a few songs, then received a certificate.

After the songs, we got to go around and do the activities...things like tumbling, a balance beam, rhythmic gymnastics, a sack race, football toss, etc.  Miley loved showing off for us, and even Landon got in on the action.

The big hit was the little barrel train they brought in.  They got to ride this around the parking lot, and thought it was the greatest thing ever.  They even had one car with a car seat in it, so Landon got to take a few rides.  He kept a pretty straight face the whole time, but I am pretty sure he had a good time.  :)

We finished off the day with some cake, and then it was time to say goodbye for the year.  It was actually a little sad, even though I know we will be back in a few short months!  Now I have to figure out how to fill some of that time during the summer!
