One Year Stats

Miley had her one-year check up on the 23rd, and here are her latest stats:

Height - 27 inches (3-5th percentile)

Weight - 17 pounds, 1 ounce (3-5th percentile)

Well, at least she is proportional, right? :)

Fun To Be One!

One year ago we welcomed this little cutie into our family...

Today she is even cuter, which I didn't think was possible!

Today is Miley's first birthday, and I am always in awe over how much she has changed over the last year. She has brought so much to our family, and we can't even remember or imagine what life was like without her!

Miley is the sweetest little girl, always coming up to us and giving us kisses out of the blue, and always having a smile for us. She is little Miss Independent now that she is walking, and doesn't like to be held as much, so we cherish the moments that she will snuggle with us and let us hold her, even if it is just for a few minutes. She loves to say "Mama" and "Dada" and has a lot of other things on her mind, that we just can't quite understand yet.

Miley is a little social butterfly. She loves trying to keep up with all of her older cousins and friends, and can play for hours if we would let her. She even tries to give some of her friends her big open mouth kisses, and sometimes freaks them out a little bit. :)

She is full of personality and "spunk". She is a little firecracker who knows exactly what she wants, and when she wants it and does not give up easily. This will probably cause us some trouble in the next year, but for now we love her little feisty personailty.

We feel so lucky to be the parents of this little girl, and know that she is going to bring us lots of laughs, tears, happiness, and love over the course of her life.

We love you, Miley Elizabeth, and happy first birthday! It is fun to be one, so run around, play hard, and keep being you!!

Happy Father's Day!

I just wanted to give a little shout out to my wonderful husband on Father's Day. Cameron is the best dad I could have ever possibly asked for to Miley. She just ADORES her dad...she is so sad every time he leaves for work in the morning, and just lights up and can't get to him fast enough when he gets home at night.

Cameron is a very hands-on dad. He is always willing to jump in and help feed Miley, change her, give her baths, play with her, read to her, and snuggle her before sleep-times. And he loves doing it. Miley sure thinks the world of him, and so do I. :) We love you daddy!

I also have to tell my dad how much I love him, and how grateful I am for everything he does for us! I am so lucky to have him be my dad! Can't wait to see you in a couple days, Dad! Love you lots!

Let Her Eat Cake!

Just a small little video of Miley eating some of her cake yesterday!

Birthday Bash

We celebrated Miley's first birthday today, even though she won't officially be one until Monday. It was a lot of fun, and we enjoyed spending it with those of you who were able to come. :) Miley is loving all of her new toys, and if she could, we know she would be saying a big THANK YOU to all of you.

The cake I made for Miley to tear into...for those who can't tell, it is the Baby Einstein caterpillar (I am not very creative, so I felt like this was about the best I could do! :)).

The cake we got for FREE from Byerley's (thanks for the tip, Darci!!) that everyone else got to enjoy.

A picture of us before all the action began...my head is a little cut off. That's how we roll in this house. :)

Cameron helping Miley open some of her presents.

A couple of Miley's little buddies...Noah and Brinley

Opening her baby doll from Grammy and Poppa. The girls were so excited (on a side note, we have had a little taste of what it is like to have twins this weekend! We had this little cutie, Brinley, staying with us for a couple days while her mom, Becca, ran a marathon...WOW!!).

Opening some more...

The end result of the birthday cake...I think she liked it!

Yummy!!

I can't believe this little girl is one (well, almost). That is a little sad to this mom, but I can't wait to see what the next year holds!

Messy Messy!

We are definitely getting to that age where Miley makes more messes than I feel like I can keep up with sometimes...just a couple examples from the past week...

This girl definitely likes to feed herself now...which results in this. But it is pretty cute, I guess. :)

While I was getting ready this morning, I put on a show for Miley, and came out to find that she was finding other ways to amuse herself...

I am one of those weirdos that likes to alphabetize our DVDs, so I was not super thrilled, but I could not help taking pictures of her game...she was having a blast...

...not done yet!

It's aint over until the fat lady sings, or in this case until the DVD tower falls over on you...I guess game over and time for mom to pick it all up.

As messy as she is, we sure can't get enough of this little girl. We can't believe that she is going to be one in 5 days! I have a feeling that these messes are just a little taste of what is to come in the next few years...sigh.

Picture Tour...

This may be a boring post for most of you, but I just thought I would post a picture tour of our new apartment. I know that my sisters will be interested in seeing it, but I don't blame the rest of you if you don't care. :) It still needs a little work, and some decorating. So hey, if anyone has any great ideas, feel free to leave them!

The view from our front door...

Where I was standing in the last picture...the door to the right is our laundry room (with a full size washer and dryer....glorious!) and the door to the left is our coat closet. One of the things I love about this apartment is all the closet space. All the closets are pretty much walk-in-closets...

...our coat closet...with my huge Graco stroller and everything in it!

The hallway to the right when you walk in...leads to the bedrooms and bathrooms.

Eating area and desk area past the hallway and on the right when walking in the front door.

The kitchen is on the left when walking in (we need some cute little bar stools or something for the counter area).

Inside the doorway of the kitchen.

Looking back at the kitchen, and entry area from the desk (you may notice a pretty cute little tour guide in some of these pictures...)

Living room from the eating/desk area...

Standing by the TV looking at the desk/eating area...

Going down the hallway...master bedroom on right, Miley's bedroom on left...

...then if you turn left there is Miley's room on the right, guest room straight ahead, and there is a bathroom on the left.

Master bedroom from doorway (and my lovely pink pillow that I have to sleep with, and my bear that Cameron used in his proposal). :)

From the other corner of the bedroom looking at the doorway, and our closet...and our cute little tour guide...

Master closet that walks through to master bathroom (I figured everyone knows what bathrooms look like so I didn't take any pictures of those).

Walking into Miley's room with her closet on the left...

Yes, even Miley gets her very own walk in closet. :)

A little bit further into the room...

Looking from the corner with the windows, towards doorway.

And finally the guest room where all you guys are going to come stay, right?? RIGHT?! :) I guess it can be Cameron's golf clubs room until then...

Mom, are we done yet?? I want to play...

I am done with the tour guide thing...

So there you have it. It is definitely hard getting back to apartment living after living in a house for the past year (noise, less space, etc.) but we really do like our new place. It is a good amount of space for us and will be a fun place to be for the next little while. Like I said, feel free to leave any comments about decorations...it is a little sparse right now. I have some stuff that needs to be hung up, but I need to get some frames and things first...and now I am just rambling, so that will be the end of that. :) Hope you enjoyed our little tour, if you actually were bored enough to look through this whole thing. :)

Twins Game

On June 3rd, we were able to go to a Twins game against Cleveland. We went with some new friends who just moved into our ward, and we had a great time, despite the fact that Minnesota lost 10-1. We had just moved into our apartment 4 days earlier, and were still living among boxes, and without TV or internet so it was definitely nice to get out and just relax. We left Miley with our sister-in-law too, which added to the relaxing time. :) We had great seats....right behind home plate and about 30 rows up...we hope we can make it to another game very soon!!

Cam and me

Right after the players got in an "almost" fight. All the players had come out of the dugouts, but I didn't get my camera out in time to catch that. :)

Cecia and her cute little guy, Jack, and me

Cameron and...Cameron! :) That's right...we have two of them. :)
