Happy Thursday!

Gotta love it when the hubby brings home flowers...just because it's Thursday. :) I love him. :)

She Did It!

Miley took her first steps yesterday, April 26 (10 months and 4 days old). She was taking a couple steps here and there throughout the day, but we caught on video when she actually took more than two steps in a row. Cameron was pretty excited that the object that made her take the leap was a toy golf club. Now he thinks that we should go out and get her some mini golf clubs (I think he is hoping he has a little golf buddy in the making!)! We were at Don and Cindy's house, and you can tell that she had quite the little fan club. :)

I'm 10 Months Old Today!

As the title says, today I am 10 months old!

I sure have learned a lot in the last couple of weeks, like how to wave, how to say "Mama" and "Dada", how to get my groove on (dance), and how to REALLY play peek-a-boo! I am also standing completely on my own now, but I am still a little afraid to take that first step!

Some of my favorite things include:
  • Going for long walks in my stroller. I kind of "zone out" and don't make a peep the whole time.
  • Reading books. Given the choice between a pile of toys, and a pile of books, I now head straight for the books. I especially like my ABC books and my Touch and Feel Animal book.
  • Taking baths. But I REALLY like to stand up the whole time I am in there!
  • Sucking my fingers while holding my lovey.
  • Dancing around the room with my mom or dad holding me, especially if the Beatles or the Beach Boys are playing.
  • Climbing on anything and everything I can, including stairs, shelves, and chairs.
  • Looking out windows and watching what is going on in the world outside.
  • Food - especially grapes, graham crackers, and anything my mom and dad are eating.
Some things I don't really like are:
  • Vacuum cleaners!! I get really scared anytime there is one turned on when I am around.
  • Wearing hats...this is a new discovery. Now that it is sunny again, my mom makes me wear a hat, and I try to take it off the whole time.
  • Getting my hair done - I don't like to sit still for that long!
There is not much that I don't like! I am a pretty happy baby. I can't believe in just two months I am going to be ONE! Wow, I am getting old. :) Enjoy the videos below of me playing Peek-A-Boo (and then trying to give the camera kisses!), and of me dancing!

Crawling Race

Last night I was just playing around with Miley, and this particular thing really had her cracking up. This is the best video we have of her laughing, and we love the sound of her laugh, so I just had to share it. :)

Just Because

One of my favorite things lately is listening to Miley when she wakes up from a nap. She is so cute. She will just sit in her crib and talk to herself until I come in and get her. I have already posted a video of her doing this, when she was about 6 months old, but I thought I would post another one, just because I love it! I also can't help but laugh at Miley's hair in this video...she was obviously sleeping in such a way that her pigtails are pointing forward. :) Enjoy! Oh, and excuse the annoying fan in the background for the first little bit...we can't figure out why our vent in the hallway in making that sound.

Family Visit

WARNING! Long post ahead. :)

This past week we had Cameron's brother, Stephen, and his wife Amy and their four girls, Brianna, Sami, Kaitlyn, and Ava come visit us. It was so much fun. This is the first sibling of Cameron's to come visit us since we moved here almost two years ago! We had a busy few days, and I am terrible at taking pictures, so I am posting what I have and some that I have taken from Amy. If I come across any more the next few days I will be sure to post them.

The first day they were here (Wednesday, April 8), we just kind of hung out and relaxed, and all caught up with each other.

The second day they were here we went to the Mall of America where all the older kids enjoyed the amusement park all day long. I spent the time watching everyone go on rides, taking some of the younger kids on rides, and trying to get Miley to fall asleep in her stroller.

Finally asleep!

The next day we hung out in the morning, then went to Como Zoo in St. Paul, which is a cute little zoo, that is free! I didn't get any pictures on my camera, but hopefully I can get some from the other family members. We again spent most of our time trying to get Miley to sleep in her stroller, but we got to see some monkeys, lions, giraffes, zebras, tigers, seals, and some other fun animals!

On Saturday, we put on an Easter egg hunt for all the kids. We even got Miley in on the action with her own special little eggs that were in plain sight in the front yard. Then we went inside and that afternoon the kids dyed Easter eggs. We passed on that activity for Miley, and she just got to eat some dinner instead.

Getting ready to head out, not quite sure what to think!

Oh, this is pretty cool!

Well, this isn't quite as cool as dying eggs, but I will take it!

On Easter Sunday, we tried to get some pictures of Ava and Miley together in their cute little Easter dresses. They are only 8 months apart, and we think they are going to be pretty good friends when they get older. They were giving each other hugs and kisses the whole time they were together, but this photo shoot didn't go as smoothly. Miley wanted nothing to do with the pictures, and Ava kept trying to pull her back in and put her arms around her. It was pretty funny, but we eventually had to give up.

You're not getting anywhere if I can help it!

WWF - Baby Edition

Finally, a decent one...even though Miley is still struggling to get Ava's hands off of her!

We also had fun giving the girls baths together, and Cameron made Kaitlyn a bedtime snack of "toasties" (aka - cinnamon toast) every night, and she thought he was pretty cool for doing that.

It was a fun 5 days, and we are sad that it went by so fast! Thanks Stephen and Amy for bringing your cute family out to visit us! We miss you already!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! We have had a fun week with Cameron's brother Stephen and his family in town for a few days. I have to sort through pictures and work on that post, so for now I thought I would post these pictures of Miley in her Easter dress with her Easter basket.

Take Me Out To the Ball Game...

It is opening day for MLB. Are you ready?? Miley sure is. Unfortunately we are not going to the Twins game tonight, but I thought Miley better get dressed up anyway (in her Twins gear that we got for her last summer...yes, it still fits). Hopefully we will get to go to a few games this year, especially since it is the last year in the Metrodome. Oh and just so you know, I am definitely a Colorado Rockies fan...but I guess the Twins are all right too. :)

Taking Laps and Some Other Randoms

Lately, Miley's favorite thing to do is walk around and around our house with her little shopping cart. So we had to get just a little video of her taking her laps (sorry about the slightly blurry, shaky video...I guess that's what happens when you are walking backwards to try to film it!).

Another thing that Miley has enjoyed doing lately is standing at the door or the window (don't worry...I totally supervise when she is standing on the window ledge!) and looking outside. She especially likes doing this when Cameron is coming home from work. She gets so excited to see him walking up to the door!

And just to throw another random picture in for fun...check out Miley standing by herself with nothing around her! Crazy! Now we just wonder when she will get really brave and try to take a step!

Our Little Bug

This morning I was finally able to accomplish pigtails on Miley! Now, her hair is long enough where this has been possible for some time, but I was able to get her to sit still long enough to do it! I put her hair in her little ponytail everyday, and now I think she is used to that, so it didn't bug her to sit still for just a little longer.

She kind of looks like a little bug with
antennae. But it is pretty dang cute.

Oh, and happy April everyone! Maybe spring will finally be here one of these days...
