I'm Going To Be Busy the Next Few Days...

...because my best friend from college, Kelly, is coming to see me!! I can't wait to see her, and have lots of fun girl time and to have her meet Miley for the first time.

Here's to late night chats talking about anything and everything, chick flicks, pedicures, and chocolate!

I mean come on....you know it's going to be a good time with two crazy girls like this! :)

I Like To Move It

I just had to put up this video of Miley dancing around before bed tonight. She sure knows how to shake it!

*Right around the 1:05 point is particularly funny. :)

*It is kind of a long video. Sorry folks. Don't watch it if you don't want to!

*Sorry about the video quality...for some reason when I flip it so it is up and down on One True Media, it comes out kind of fuzzy.

For My Mom...

...the picture I said I would eventually post of Miley enjoying her super cute (if I do say so myself) Ikea chair that we picked out while you were here, but was so unfortunately out of stock.

She loves it. :)

Now THAT'S Recycling!

Ever wonder what to do with all of those extra paper grocery bags you have lying around the house??

Why, make a big coloring mat, of course!

Miley sure had some fun coloring on it. And I bet she doesn't even know that it's second-hand. :)

(Oh and case you are wondering, Miley is dressed most of the time. Somehow in a lot of these pictures and videos she is just in a diaper. Weird... :))

Nice Hair!

Miley's hair allows us to have many opportunities to fix it cute...but when she comes out from bath time with her daddy, it somehow comes out looking like this:

It is some kind of a backwards comb over/Elvis combination hairstyle.

What do you think? Is it the hot new look for 2010? No? Oh well...maybe next time, Miley.

Future Track Star??

I think my husband could really use another boy in this house.

But, until then, Miley will do as the resident "athlete-in-training."

Because, I mean, every one-year old needs to know how to start in a three-point stance, right?

Cameron sure thinks so...but I guess I will concur and admit that it is pretty cute.

(sorry that it is kind of dark...apparently we need better lighting in our apartment)

Free Stuff Is Good, Right??

I got this from my cousin, Annie's blog. Basically the jist of it is you sign up for thing, Swagbucks, and you use them as your search engine, instead of Google or Yahoo or whatever. You earn these things called Swagbucks, and then you can redeem them for things, like an Amazon gift card, or a Barnes and Noble gift card, or even a Target gift card. We all know I like that! :)

I am still figuring out how it works, but all I know is that I love free stuff, and if I can get free stuff by doing something that I do anyway, I might as well, right?

Here is the link to follow if you would like to join me in Swagbucks!
Happy Shopping!

A Win-Win-Win-Win Night!

Last Wednesday, the 12th, our friends Taber and Becca invited us to go to a Twins game with them. We LOVE going to baseball games, so we were able to leave Miley with Don and Cindy and we were off for a fun night!

On the way down, we were taking with Taber and Becca about how long it had been since any of us had been to a game without any kids. Cameron and I hadn't been to a baseball game with no kids since before Miley was born. I think Taber and Becca haven't been able to stay for a full game, since they always have kids with them...in fact, Becca said that they had never made it to the 7th inning stretch, so all she really wanted to do was to sing "Take Me Out To the Ballgame!" So we were pretty excited to be kid free this night!

The Twins played the Kansas City Royals, and Taber scored some sweet tickets from work. We were on the first baseline, about 15 rows up.

It was a great night, with great company. Becca described it best, when she said it was a Win-Win-Win situation because it was a double date, a guys night, and a girls night all rolled into one. I added the 4th Win in the title, because the Twins ended up winning 7-1.

Oh, and Becca finally got to sing "Take Me Out To the Ballgame." :)

Thanks Taber and Becca for a fun night!!

Lazy Days of Summer

It is getting to that point in the year, where we need to cram in a lot of time outside before we get back to the 6 months of winter we have up here!

Minnesota has so many great park and lake areas, and we figured we better enjoy them while we can.

We took advantage of some hot weather today and went to a lake that is only about 1/2 mile from our apartment. We didn't get into the lake, but we got to play the at the park, and walk on some trails that they have around there. It was a great way to spend the afternoon as a family!

Love this picture...Miley looking out at the lake from the boardwalk area.

Me and Miley...NOT the best picture of me...the wind was not helping my hair. But I thought Miley looked adorable! We don't get too many pictures of her smiling these days, because she doesn't sit still! :)

I think these two are wishing they could get in!

Miley running along the trails...

This girl loves her swings!

Here's to the lazy days of summer, and hoping winter doesn't come too soon!

Water Baby

Today we were able to join Don and Cindy and their family at the community center pool. They have annual passes, and with that they got some free guest passes so we got suited up and went for a fun afternoon.

Miley had an absolute ball. There are some great kid areas where you can wade in, and it doesn't get much deeper than probably 18 inches. She was a little wary the first time we let her wander in, but then after that we couldn't get her OUT of the pool.

It was a really hot and humid day...we enjoyed the outside pool for a while, but then moved inside. Good thing too....because it started lightning later on!

Miley was sad when we left...so I guess we are going to have to make it back there again soon!

Miley and Cameron having fun...

My nephew, Ben, and me.

Our niece, Kayla, was so nice to take Miley down the little slide a lot! Miley loved it...once she was down, she would immediately point at it to say that she wanted to go again!

Miley going under one of the many fountain things...that is a smile on her face. She loved getting her face splashed!

Mom and Dad Visit!

This last weekend, my parents decided to make a really spontaneous trip to come up and visit me! I was very excited to have them, and it was nice to have the company because Cameron was out of town on a fishing trip with some of his brothers.

Once again, I was totally lame and didn't get ANY pictures. I need to start leaving my camera attached to my hip, or something!

My parents got in Friday evening, and we got a quick dinner, then just hung out talking and playing games. The next day, we shopped till we dropped! We had a lot of fun hitting up the mall, which included Gap, Children's Place, Gymboree, and Border's. We also went to Babies R Us, and Sports Authority. After running home, to put Miley down for a nap (and leaving my dad there to watch her - thanks dad!!) my mom and I ran back to go to Old Navy, Kohl's, and Byerly's, which is the most amazing grocery store EVER. We picked up some yummy salads and desserts to go with dinner that night, and then we headed home. After dinner, we ran out yet again to go to Target! It was a busy day, but lots of fun!

On Sunday, we spent the day recovering from our big shopping day the day before. We took some walks, and had kind of a lazy day, but I really enjoyed having my parents there to talk to and to enjoy the day with!

Monday, we ran all over the place again. We went to Target in the morning to get some stuff that we didn't the last time. After Miley's nap, we went to Ikea. I wish I had gotten some pictures here, because we had a really fun time, and found some cute things! We ate lunch at Ikea, then went home to put Miley down for a nap.

Cameron got back into town on Sunday night, so on Monday we met him down at the mall area after work and we went to California Pizza Kitchen for Dinner.

We had so much fun running around like crazy. My parents helped me decorate some areas of our apartment that needed some help, and now everything looks so much cuter!

Miley was absolutely WONDERFUL the whole time. She was so cute, holding my parents hands when we were walking places (again, something I REALLY wish I had thought to take pictures of!!), and trying to get them to read her a book anytime she could. They really got to see her true personality this time, because she always seems a little "off" when we go to Laramie.

Thanks Mom and Dad for making the LONG drive up here, so last minute! It was so fun to see you guys, and I can't wait to see you again soon!
