Welcome To the Club?

Cameron and I had our first look into the not-so-fun side of parenting tonight, and here is a recap for all of you (just want you want to read, I know). :)

Miley woke up this morning with a really runny nose, and hasn't been sleeping too well all day. When we put her down tonight, she was struggling a little bit, so we played the "let her cry it out" card a couple of times when she was fussing.

The third time she woke up in about two hours, Cameron went up to suck out her nose with the bulb syringe, to helpfully let her breathe a little better and go to sleep.

Well, Cameron was welcomed with an awful smell and throw-up all over the crib, the floor, and Miley. How terrible do you feel as a parent when you have been letting your baby cry it out, and there is actually something wrong???

So Cameron got Miley into the tub, while I started taking everything out of the crib (bumper, sheet, mattress pad, blankets) to get them into the wash ASAP. Then onto the floor to clean that up.

So now Miley is snuggling with her dad on the couch, I am doing two impromptu loads of laundry, and writing this while I am waiting for that to be done.

So it's official....we have joined the club of parents all over who have had to do this. Not exactly a club I was dying to be a member of. :) I mean seriously...shouldn't these cute little babies be exempt from these kinds of things?? I sure think so.

Wish us luck for the rest of the night! Hopefully it was something she ate, and not a full-blown sickness.

You must have written this before she threw up two more times! Poor Miley... I was thinking of you guys all night. Did the Pedialyte work? I hope she is feeling better today.

Poor little baby! That is the WORST! We are totally part of that lame club. We've also done the whole, "let's let her cry it out" thing only to find the baby lying in throw up later on. (it's happened with both girls!) It's so hard to know if you should go in or not! I hope she's feeling better. Brinley had the pukes awhile back after I gave her some milk based formula. Now if I give her formula (which is rare) I use the soy based kind and she does fine. Anyway, who knows if it was something she ate or just a bug. I just hope she gets over it quickly!

Man, sorry you had to join the club. I'm sure I'll be applying to that club here soon as well. I hope Miley is feeling better.

Aww man, it's not fun to have to clean up barf, especially when everyone should be sleeping! Parenthood is not for the faint of heart!

I hate it when that happens. Hailey got really sick like that at 8 months and that's when she decided to give up baby food, start eating french fries and drinking water. Brennan ended up catching it pretty bad too. So whenever Hailey starts throwing up, we all just stop eating in fear that not eating will mean no vomit. Yea for the Barf Club.

I am so sorry, Wendy! Lainey was throwing up for a few days last week and it's AWFUL. I really hope she will start feeling better soon!
