I am sure many of you have seen, or do the Elf on the Shelf tradition for yourselves, but this is the first year we decided to pick up on this trend. "Santa" delivered Freddie to us on Thanksgiving night, along with a book explaining all about Freddie and how he watches the kids to see if they are being naughty or nice. Each night he returns to Santa to give him a report, and then comes back and hides in a new spot for the kids to find each day.
We have been having a lot of fun with this and certainly pull out the "Miley, you better be good because Freddie is watching..." card a lot! Miley loves waking up in the morning, and the first thing she asks to do is to find Freddie. So far we have found Freddie on a couple windows, in the playroom, on the mantle, on a lamp, on the TV, etc. I have to admit,
It has been fun to start one of the first of our own Christmas traditions in our little family. I look forward to pulling Freddie out each year from now on, and having him be a part of our family during the Christmas season!

Oh my gosh! We totally got an elf on the shelf this year too and it's the BEST! Although we've totally had a few close calls too, like this morning when I got up with Cam at 5:30am and realized Sneaky (our elf) hadn't moved yet! Good thing Taber reminded me! I love it though because the kids have been SO well behaved with that thing watching them. Best discipline trick ever!
How cute is that?!!!! I love it! I wish they had an elf on the shelf years ago. My kids would have loved that tradition. Instead I just told them the elves were watching through the windows. That works too :)
I dropped the ball on getting one of these for this Christmas like you told me to, but if it works to make kids more well behaved, I am totally on board next year! In fact, it may be worth getting for the last two weeks leading up to Christmas this year... I can't tell you how many times in the past few weeks I could have totally used the whole "You better be good because the elf is watching" card with Bode!
Must be something about "F" names--ours is Flippy! It's so fun to have an elf watching over the kids this year:) They need to be on their best behavior!
