Landon At Nine Months

Wow.  Here I am again, and another month has come and gone.  I can't believe how much faster everything goes with the second kid.  I still feel like Landon should be somewhere around 4 or 5 months, but here we are at 9 months old.

The past month has been full of new discoveries for the little mister.  All of a sudden I am having to be even more on my toes, as Landon has dicovered how to climb the stairs, play in the water in toilet (ewwwww), and unroll full rolls of toilet paper.  He is into things that I have never even given a second thought, because Miley never got into them.  But here we are, having to take on a whole new level of baby-proofing that is unfamiliar territory for us.

Landon also sprouted his second tiny toothy on November 10th, at 8 months, 3 weeks and 3 days old.  No sign of any other teeth yet, but I am sure they are coming.

We are starting to hear a little more babbling coming from him.  We are sure that he has given us the always oh-so-exciting "Da da" and "Ma ma," although you can't ever be too sure if they know exactly what that means.  But we will take it anyway.  He is also loving to walk around holding onto someone's hands, but has not yet stood on his own or taken his first steps (phew!).

Landon takes two pretty decent naps a day, and goes to bed at about 6:30 or 7:00 every night, but has yet to sleep through the night.  The past few weeks have been particularly rough, as he has been sick, teething, and consistently waking himself up with a dirty diaper at least 2 times a night.  We are hoping that this can get straightened out soon and we can work on getting him to sleep all the way through the night!

Miley is still as smitten with Landon as usual, and the feeling is definitely mutual.  These two just love being around each other.  And even though there is often some hair pulling or scratching (on Landon's end to Miley) and tumbling and pushing over, or just dragging around or trying to hold (on Miley's end to Landon) they are quick to get over it and get back to laughing and playing.

Our little boy is still as sweet as ever, although he will definitely let you know if he wants something or is not happy.  We are loving watching his little personality emerge, and are just hoping we can keep up with him as he is sure to only get faster, and more rambunctious!

Oh, and in case you are wondering, all of these pictures are a little sneak peek of the family photo session we did with my incredibly talented friend, Darci.  We love how she captured Landon perfectly, and have more great pictures to share later!

Who Says It's Too Early??

I don't know if it is the fact that we are finally in our new house, and feel like we can really decorate for the first time...

...or if it is the fact that we have had beautiful weather, and we wanted to take advantage of it, and not wait until it was snowy and icy and cold outside...

...or if we have been too cooped up and are going stir crazy due to the fact that we have had one sickness after another after another, and are therefore in need of a little cheer.

Or maybe it is a combination of all of the above.

Either way, we decided it was time to decorate for Christmas!  Yeah, yeah, I actually kind of hate the fact that we have done this and it isn't Thanksgiving yet, but can you blame us, after reading those reasons above?  Also, between you and me, I think Cameron was hoping to test out his Spidey skills...

Plus, I couldn't resist after Miley asked for the hundreth time if we could pull our tree out to decorate it.  She took her job very seriously as the sole decorator, and took a liking to a particular corner of the tree...about 80 percent of the ornaments ended up there (but somehow magically got rearranged that night...funny how that works...).  And Landon totally loved all the ornaments and the lights...heck, I couldn't get him to sit still long enough to get a picture without it turning blurry.  But we got some cute ones of him and Cam!

Don't worry...I haven't done ALL the decorating yet.  We still have some small things to set out...that will wait until after Thanksgiving.  :)

Halloween 2011

Halloween night was a total success this year.  The weather was nice (in the 40's around trick-or-treat time, which is actual pretty great this time of year!), and we got to go to a little pre trick-or-treat get together at our neighbor's house to kick off the festivities.  They had pizza and little mummy dogs, cookies, cupcakes, and some other snacks for everyone to munch on.  We tried to get Miley to get some "real" food in her (you know, the pizza) before all of the candy and sugar of the night, but she ate about two bites, and then was just too excited seeing a bunch of her friends all in the same place in their costumes.

The party soon moved to the basement where the kids had a little dance party to some Halloween music...

"This is just crazy, yo..."

Following the dance party there was a little game of "Pass the Spider" (the Halloween version of "Hot Potato").  Miley actually made it down to the last 4 before she was out (although I don't think she truly understood what she was doing the whole time!).

Then we got to enjoy a fashion show of all the costumes.  After seeing some of the older kids come out and strike a pose, Miley came strutting out and did her best modeling pose (and later claimed that she "won!")...

Landon also made his way down the runway, but didn't make it too far before being mauled by all of his adoring fans.

We had time for a quick group picture, and then it was time to head out for trick-or-treating!  Don't worry...no lions were harmed in the taking of these pictures, although it may appear otherwise!

We set off for trick-or-treating.  I took Miley to the first few houses, with Landon in the stroller...

But once Miley started running to meet up with some of her friends, I headed back home and let Cameron take over the trick-or-treating duties.  Landon decided that since he got ripped off and had to go inside, he would try to steal some of our candy...

After only a short time trick-or-treating, Miley fell behind most of her friends due to not being able to keep up with them running, and a few tantrums over wearing her coat.  Fortunately, she met up with her little buddy, Grady, and she seemed pleased as punch to finish making the rounds with him!  :)

She finally made it back home, and took inventory of all her candy, and then she and Landon were off to bed in their spooky pajamas!

And just to show our pumpkins up close...Dracula, a haunted house, and a bat-cat (that was originally just going to be a normal jack-o-lantern!).

We hope everyone had a good Halloween!  We are now all just in the mddle of some nasty sickness, and are looking forward to the rest of sick season the holidays!
