On My Mind...

  • Baby Boy Clark.  I seriously wish there was some kind of device that could tell you when exactly your baby was going to be born.  That would save me worrying about when to pack for the hospital (which I haven't done yet), when to tell my mom to come out here, etc.  I don't like the fact that it could be tomorrow, or it could be in four weeks.
  • Summer.  Enough said.
  • Houses.  We are pretty seriously considering buying something soon, but there are a million little things playing into our decision - budget, buy or build, what is REALLY important to us in a home, etc.  It is fun, and we have been exploring a lot of options, but it would be nice to figure something out and get the ball rolling, whatever we decide.
  • How fast Miley is growing up.  We have started thinking about preschools for next year, and I can't believe that she is already old enough for that!  It makes me sad.  :(
  • Um, yeah.  Preschools.  How much, where, how often, etc.
  • Clothes.  There are so many things out there right now that I REALLY wish I could fit into.  I am getting excited for the day when I can fit into the new clothes that I got for Christmas!
  • Vacations...this is the first time since we moved up here that I really don't know when the next time will be that we will be going on a vacation of some type, or going home to see family.  Not such a fan of not knowing when we will be on the go again.
  • Meal planning.  I have been trying to be better about planning meals every week, so that I can do one big shopping trip on Saturday, rather than a couple small trips throughout the week.  I know it is going to be harder to make it to the store once I have two kids in tow, so I am trying to get in the habit now of doing this.  But I am always trying to figure out what meals to make so I don't do the same things over and over.  I have to admit, I don't LOVE cooking, and I am not too creative, so this one is a work in progress for me.  :)
  • Double strollers.  I go back and forth over whether this is something that I want or not.  On a regular basis, I don't really think I desperately NEED one, but it would be nice to have one for trips, or for occasional trips to the zoo or things like that.  I also kind of want one, because Miley is actually kind of enjoying her stroller these days, and if I am out and about with two kids and can keep them BOTH contained, then I am all for that, for as long as I can!  That being said, the only double strollers I like are a little on the *pricey* side...and so I am not sure about that.
  • My husband.  Just because he is cute.  :)
I am not sure if it is being 37 weeks pregnant, and SUPER uncomfortable that is making it hard to sleep at night now, or if it is my mind racing and thinking about all of these all night long!

Any ideas, advice, or experiences with any of these?  Please share.  :)

One word. Nesting. You are trying to figure everything out before the baby gets here! I think we all do it, our minds race with all of the to-do's and decisions that we think need to be made. Good luck!

My two cents,
Only buy a home, if you plan on stay for 2 years or longer the taxes are killer if you sell before 2 years.
Preschool- I was thinking we could do a little home preschool swap. I haven't mentioned it to Cecia or Kari yet, but I thought Jack, Miley, Kizzy and Asher could have fun. We could take turns hosting it. Have a little lesson and activity. There are alot of great ideas online. We can talk about it later if you even like the idea.

Okay, now I am stressing about preschools... thanks. JK. But seriously, Miley and Bode still just seem too young to be worrying about that yet!
We are thinking about baby boy Clark over here too and anxiously awaiting his arrival.
I say don't worry about getting in the habit of doing one big shopping trip just yet... enjoy those small trips throughout the week while you can because they WILL come to an end, if not permanently, then temporarily (although a double stroller could help with that... are you looking for one that works for an infant?).
You will fit into those new clothes soon enough... If you have only gained 25 pounds (or less!) then the extra weight will come off quick, no problem!
Try not to stress.. enjoy you last few weeks (or days!) of pregnancy and your time with Miley... he will be here before you know it!

I was going to say to get a Joovy stroller on Craigslist. You can find a good deal. Also, I agree to get your shopping done in one trip but let Cam get the produce on the way home from work like for the next day. And make some freezer meals to help with those days it doesn't happen. Let me know if you need easy recipes to try. I've got a ton.

-Not knowing when you're baby will come is the worst. I always feel like I'm on pins and needles that last few weeks and it's so hard to make any plans because you don't know what your schedule will be like!
-I feel you on the clothes thing. Even with the baby out NOTHING fits. And it's worse because I don't even have a cute baby belly to blame, I'm just a squishy blob of jelly. UGH! I can't wait till I have the go ahead to start exercising again. This body needs it!
-I think Miley would do awesome in preschool. Brinley has gone once a week to a friend's who does it out of her home and she absolutely loves it. Next year I'll probably have her go twice a week for 2 hours and the year after that she'll go 3 days a week for 3 hours. I wouldn't spend too much money for preschool for next year since she still has two years before Kindergarten. I would probably try to do like a joyschool thing kind of what Maren was talking about and then maybe the year before she starts kindergarten invest more in a real preschool. Anyway, that's just my 2 cents.

Just my quick two cents on preschools since I am a Kindergarten teacher...don't burn her out too fast we see too many kids who are "schooled out" already by the time they get to Kindergarten. It is however very helpful to have had some realistic school settings the year before K, if you really want something this soon we see lots of parents do 3 mornings a week. Also make sure you look into the degrees and backgrounds of all teachers ;)

I swear there are cuter clothes when I am pregnant than when I am not, and just to make me jealous because I cant fit into them. Preschool? oh man havent even thought about that but now I am! And that is so exciting about a house?! I hope you find the perfect one, Good luck!

My thoughts:
Clothes- you are looking great at 9months prego so you will be back in your old clothes in no time.
Preschool- I loved doing a joy school with Ladd. It is really fun to create their first "school" experience and I loved the special time I got to spend with Ladd and his friends very couple of weeks.
Double Stroller- totally worth it! Even for the occasional use it gives you so much more independence. Ladd will still sit in one and last week I was having a little cabin fever and took the kids shopping for a couple of hours and they sat in the stroller for a big portion of it. If you need stroller suggestions, I've tried most of them so let me know.
Can't wait to hear the big news!!!
