Just Keep Swimming

We have had an unusually cool summer this year, but we have gotten to enjoy the pool at our apartment (one of the perks of being back in an apartment)!

Miley isn't too sure about the water, but once she is in there for a little bit, she ends up having a lot of fun.

I just had to post some pictures, because I think she is just too cute in her little tankini!

Hopefully we can get in a lot more pool time before our pool closes on Labor Day, because I know once winter hits I am going to be WISHING that I could be doing this again!

Cameron and Miley enjoying the pool.

Miley running around the pool! Cameron has a pretty sweet farmer's tan too... :)

All You Single Ladies...

...or married lady, in my case! On Thursday, July 16, I got to have a girls night out with my friend, Becca, where we went to see Beyonce!

Cameron got tickets from a guy that he works with the Monday before, and I asked if I wanted them, and that he didn't want to go, so I could go with a friend. I asked Becca, and she was awesome and was able to go along with it, even being kind of last minute!

It was so much fun...we sang, and danced (and someone behind us even told Becca to sit down because they couldn't see over her....REALLY??!!), and just had a ball that whole time.

Channeling our inner "Sasha Fierce"

Pre-concert nachos...I think I was afraid they were going to eat me, they were so big! And SOOO yummy!

Beyonce was AWESOME! A total performer, and she was very involved with the crowd and everything so it was a great concert.

It was the perfect girls night out...great entertainment, yummy food, and great company! Thanks for going with me, Becca!

Does It Get Any Cuter??

I don't think so. You've got the bed head, the fingers falling out of the mouth, and the leg stuck through the crib railings.

Pretty darn cute, if you ask me.

But that is my 100%, completely unbiased, opinion.

Laramie Trip - Part 4

During our last couple days in Laramie, we got to do do some hiking, do some fun "girl" things and celebrate the 4th of July.

Friday morning, July 3, we went to a place right outside of Laramie, called Vedauwoo. It has all these awesome rocks to climb, and is beautiful scenery. Cameron was awesome, and offered to stay home with Miley and my sister's son, Bode, who is the same age, so they could get their naps, and so we could enjoy ourselves a little bit more up in the mountains.

Vedauwoo

Standing under the sign that told us of our impending doom if we were to proceed. :)

Vedauwoo has all these hanging rocks, so we had to get the pictures to look like we are holding them up (really, we are just that strong, but I am just trying to be humble.).

My sisters, Lindsey and Gelsey.

My nephew, Tyler.

My nephew, Jeremy, and me.

Me wondering, why in the world did I haul this bag up with me to climb on some rocks??

My nephew, Tyler, and my mom climbing some rocks.

Me, my nephews, Tyler and Jeremy, and my sister, Lindsey.

Hey up there!!

Hanging out with my nieces, Megan and Lucy, while everyone else was hiking.

That afternoon after hiking, my mom and sisters and I went to get pedicures, and to do a little shopping. The pedicures were not the best experience for my mom and my sister, Lindsey. They had to wait forever, and then they never even got around to painting my sister's toenails! Hopefully the next time we do this, it will go a little smoother! But the shopping was fun...can't complain about that.

The next day we spent the 4th at our town celebration in the park, called Freedom Has a Birthday. The older kids really enjoyed it, but we only stayed for about an hour with the babies.

The patriotic ones in the fam...my brother-in-law, Michael, Cam, Miley, and me.

Miley was not super psyched about being strapped into her stroller the whole time! I am pretty sure she is giving me the evil eye in this picture! :)

Miley showing off her 4th of July gear at home.

All the kiddos together one last time, before bed and before Cameron and I left EARLY the next morning. Miley is trying to make a run for it...

That evening, we played with sparklers, and watched fireworks...we then drove outside of the city limits to set off some of our own, and had just gotten through them all when a cop came and told us to get out of there. We are such rebels. :) My oldest nephew, Jeremy, got to stay up and do all of this with us, and at one point while watching fireworks he said, "This is kind of awesome." And it was. :)

Cameron and I left the next morning at 3:00 am! The trip back was much less uneventful than the trip out there, and Miley was really good except for about an hour before each nap.

We are so glad we were able to make it out to see everyone. It was so much fun, and we miss everyone already! Hopefully it is not another two years before we are all together again!

Laramie Trip - Part 3

On Thursday, July 2, we spent the day hanging out at the house with the family, and then we were joined by Cameron's parents, and my sister's in-laws for a barbeque. It was a fun day spent just catching up with everyone, and of course Cameron's dad, Steve, was the photographer of the day and took some great shots (so picture overload coming up!!).

We love when Steve is around to take pictures...that's when we get awesome pictures like these...the next several pictures were just taken throughout the course of the day.

Miley and her cousin, Bode, loved hanging out in these two kid-sized chairs...

Miley exploring around in the backyard.

Our little family just hanging out.

Miley hanging out with her Grandma Clark.

We then had Steve take some more "posed" pictures of Miley and our family. We had to pull out the props at first to get Miley in the spirit of things...

Miley LOVES dogs, and it may be partly due to the fact that she got to spend some quality time with my sister's dog Dozer. She loved this little guy...I can't say that I think the feeling is mutual. :) In fact, Miley's first word, besides Mom and Dad is "doggy."

Miley definitely hammed it up for the camera!

My sister, Gelsey, and me. Our other sister, Lindsey, had to attend to her baby and such, so our sisters picture is definitely not complete!

My dad and his girls.

My mom and the girls.

I guess this is what raising three girls will do to you!!

And a picture of the my whole family, minus one brother-in-law, and Cameron's parents.

And a silly one just for fun (don't ask me how I got my eyes to do that...I am actually quite embarassed...it's totally creepy!)!

We had a great day, with great weather, yummy food, and the best company!

Bloggers Block

OK...so I have some new posts that I need to work on, but I kind of don't have the motivation to do them yet. Does this ever happen to any of you?? I promise I will get the last part of our trip, and some other recent, fun happenings up soon!

Laramie Trip - Part 2

My sister, Lindsey, and her baby, Lucy, got into Laramie on Monday night, June 29th. Her husband was driving with their other three kids from California, and would get in the next night. We spent the next few days hanging out around the house, playing outside, and just spending time together. Again, I apologize for the lack of pictures...I really need to work on taking more pictures when we are doing fun things.

Miley and my sister's oldest son, Jeremy. Miley thought all of her older cousins were pretty cool...Jeremy was either really into TV here, or not so excited about hanging out with his baby cousin. :) We think he was probably into the TV.

On Wednesday, I got to get my hair cut (WOO HOO!), and while I took a "Before" picture, I never got around to the "After" picture, so I won't post the before shot. It's not really all that different anyway...I am keeping my hair long this time, so it was really more of a trim. :)

Cameron and I also got to go visit his friend, Chase, who is now a fire fighter in Laramie. Cameron and Chase worked together at a car dealership in college, and became really good friends, so we make sure to see him every time we are in town.

Miley checking out the fire truck.

She thought it was pretty cool!

Our little family in front of the fire truck.

We had to take a picture to show the size of the tire next to Miley!

The next day we got lots of pictures because we saw Cameron's parents...I am still trying to get those pictures, so I will save that for another post. :)

Laramie Trip - Part 1

For the past couple of weeks, we went back home to Laramie, Wyoming for a Polson family reunion of sorts. It wasn't anything formal, but it was the first time my whole family has been together since my sister got married in June of 2007. AND there have been three new babies born since then (which is kind of a big deal, since that doubled that amount of grandkids for my parents!), so it was fun to get to see everybody all together again.

Cameron, Miley and I drove the 950 miles from Maple Grove to Laramie. Kind of crazy if you ask me, but whatever. Anyway, we left on June 25th after Cameron took off from work a little early (at about 4:00 pm) and planned to drive the whole way that night, with the hopes that Miley would sleep the whole time. Well, the trip didn't go exactly as planned. We got stuck in Minneapolis traffic for about an hour to start things off. Then, Miley didn't end up falling asleep till about 10:00 (and this is a girl who is usually asleep at 7:00 or 7:30). That is pretty much how the rest of the trip went for her sleeping-wise. I think she ended up only getting about 5 hours of sleep the whole time, so our great idea wasn't so great after all.

Anyway, we are trucking along making pretty good time, then we hit the most ridiculous rainstorm EVER in Nebraska. We were driving INTO the thing, and it lasted about 3 hours...it was raining so hard that we were having to go about 50 mph at times. So anyway, we thought we would get to Laramie at about 4:00 in the morning, but we ended up rolling in at about 5:30.

On top of all of this, Miley had just gotten her 1-year shots two days before leaving and got a fever the day we left that lasted about 3 or 4 days. Bummer. She ended up being kind of crabby for the majority of the trip, and this was probably part of the reason.

We got there on my birthday, so we got to celebrate my birthday with everyone who was there, which was fun! I don't have any pictures from that on my camera, so hopefully I can snag some from my mom or sister one of these days. :) (I stole some pictures off of my sister's blog, so here are some of the birthday celebration!).

Miley and Bode were very entertained by the balloons Chili's gave them, which provided a lot of entertainment for all of us adults as well!!

Cameron doesn't understand us Polsons very well apparently, and therefore doesn't know that we NEVER have people sing to us on our birthdays in restaurants. He was busted...oh well...at least I got a free chocolate shake out of the deal!!

For the first few days, only one of my sisters, Gelsey, and her family were there. I apologize in advance, because I always take a LOT less pictures than I intend to on trips, so I don't have a lot, and I may be pulling some off of my sister's blogs when they put them up. :) We had a relaxing few days, and had fun letting our two kids, who are only 5 weeks, play together. I got a few pictures of them swimming together, but with the combination of my picture-taking-lameness, and Miley being a little cranky, these are the only pictures I have from the first few days.

Anyway, I will be adding more about the trip in the next few days, but I figured I better break it up into parts so it wasn't one long post...so until next time... :)

PS...I got some MORE pictures from my sister's blog again, so I am adding them here at the bottom because they are just too cute!
