I have done my fair share of moving over the last few years, through college and then up here, but it is a whole new ball game when you have an *almost* one-year old who needs attention, naps, food, love, etc. I am thinking these next couple days are going to be interesting for our little peanut. Does anyone have any advice on how to keep your baby on SOME kind of a schedule on the actual day of the move?? I am still trying to figure that one out. If their bed is in transit, do you just go to the destination and hope that it gets there and that you can avoid a ton of noise while they sleep?? Ugh.
Anyhoo...on a brighter note I have some fun "de-stressers" coming up in the next few days. Getting together with friends will probably be how I keep my sanity, so thank you in advance to those of you that must have known I was in need of a little fun. :) Hopefully moving day isn't as bad as I think it will be...I tend to overreact about some things, so hopefully this is one of those situations. :)
Due to the said move, I am not sure when we will have the internet up and running again, but hopefully soon, and hopefully I can make our new place look kind of home-y and than I will post pictures for all of you to see our new digs!
So until next time...

Good luck! I hope everything goes smoothly and you get right in and settled quickly. It's not fun though. I packed up our entire house in PSL when Adam started the job in Citrus Springs. He came home on the weekends, but Embry was around the same age as Miley and it was tough. I would do most my packing when he napped and stay up late at night and pack. It's exhausting. But so nice when it's all done! Wish we could be there to help ya!
Love ya

We moved when Caleb was 9 months old into our house. We took apart his crib the night before and had him sleep in the pack and play. I took Caleb to Mike's cousin up in Champlin for his morning nap while the men moved things. And for his afternoon nap, I told Mike to put Caleb's crib together first thing. Mike didn't completely follow that to a tee so Caleb napped on me while I napped as well on the couch for his afternoon nap.
So I think that worked pretty well minus the whole not having a crib put together for the afternoon nap. I hope that helps some. Good luck on the move if you need anything just let us know.
Wendy, seriously just leave Miley with me for the day. I'm not asking you, I'm telling you! Leave her with me!! Trust me, it will make your move soooo much easier and she'll have plenty of toys to play with and will be able to take a nap here no problem. You can't say no, I'm already planning on it!
Moving is tough with a baby/toddler. We just did it so I know your anxiety about the whole thing. We just used a Pack n Play during our move. If you don't have one we would be happy to let you borrow ours. Otherwise, I know you haven't known us for long but we would be happy to watch Miley for the day if your comfortable with that. And don't forget (my) Cameron would be happy to come help with the move.
Good luck! My advice to you is that though it might be heck with Miley, she truly will get tired enough to sleep through noises. Trust me, I would know with all the craziness in my house. I've stopped caring about my kids naps. If they don't sleep well during the day, they only make up for it at night. She'll adjust.
Good luck with everything! I remember moving when Jeremy was 1 and Tyler was 2 months old. Ugh. Maybe you could put Miley down for a nap at someone else's house? Looks like you already have some offers! Hang in there, it will be over soon!
I haven't done much moving with a one year old, but I suggest keeping your Pack n Play on hand and putting it up whenever/wherever is convenient. And take your friends up on their offers! I'm sure you will have an opportunity to pay them back when you are settled. Wish I was there to help you out!
oh I am sorry. packing and moving is such a pain! I am always amazed at how much stuff I have accumulated when I move. And babies have a lot to do with that... new clothes, toys and gadgets every couple of months adds up! Wish I could help you but I have no idea how to keep a toddler on a schedule. Good Luck! I hope you get the internet soon so we can see the new place.
Man, I keep stalking this blog hoping for some pictures of your new digs! I hope you're settling in well and I cannot wait to see you and your adorable little girl in a few weeks!
I second that (Lindsey's comment)! I hope you have your internet up and running soon... we miss you in the blogging world! And YAY for 3 weeks from today!
Good luck Wendy! It is so hard to move with a little one. We moved when Lainey was ten months old and it was hard. For sure. I wish I could help you somehow!
