Momcation!!

A couple days after graduation, I got to do something I haven't done since having Miley...go on a trip all by myself, just for fun!

I decided that I wanted to go back to Wyoming/Colorado when my parents flew home, because it was a chance to see both of my sisters.  My sister, Gelsey, lives in Colorado, and my sister, Lindsey, would be in town to run the Bolder Boulder 10k, so I wanted to join the party.  :)

My parents and I were able to get on the same flight back to Colorado on Wednesday, May 21.  I had my littlest passenger with me, but it is probably the easiest he will ever be on a flight.  ;)

I spent a couple days in Laramie with just my parents before Lindsey got to Colorado.  I always enjoy going back home, and it was so relaxing to be kid-free and have nothing going on!  With all the craziness of school, graduation, dance, etc back in Minnesota, I almost didn't know what to do with myself!  Not that I am complaining...

We went to Fort Collins on Friday.  It was so fun to have our family all together again.  We spent the weekend celebrating my nephew, Bode's, 6th birthday, hitting up the Memorial Day sales at the outlet mall, and enjoying time together.  My sister's in-laws even took her kids for a couple days, so we had some time where it was just our family, or us sisters.  I don't think that has happened since before my sister Lindsey had her first kid...almost 12 years ago!

On Monday, we spent most of the day at the CU campus while my sisters rocked the Bolder Boulder.  I just got to be an observer, due to my 6 months pregnant status, but maybe some year they can convince me to do it with them!

Unfortunately, the week went too fast (as they always seem to when you are having fun!) and on Tuesday, May 27th, it was time to return home.  This time at the airport I discovered that being pregnant qualifies you for preboarding on Southwest.  Good to know!  I don't mind having to go on early and have my choice of seats.  ;)

It was such a great week.  I loved getting to spend some relaxing, kid-free time with my family, while also knowing my kids were in the best of hands back home with their dad, Aunt Cindy, and cousin Katie.  I definitely couldn't have done it without them!

Now, when is my next momcation??

Our Graduate!

This month, Cameron finally wrapped up two and a half long years of being in MBA school at the University of Minnesota.  I think that is a pretty big deal, so of course, we made him walk at graduation.  Bot of our parents came up, and we had a great weekend.

We spent the majority of the weekend playing outside, and of course, spending time with family.

It was also a busy weekend of dance things....so we were running all over the place doing rehearsals, getting pictures, etc.

On Sunday, we had everyone over for a barbecue to celebrate the graduation, even though the ceremony wasn't until Monday morning (really???  why a Monday??).

Monday, May 19th, was the big day, and despite an insane amount of rain, and two wiggly kids at graduation, it was a great morning!

We are so proud of Cameron, for all of the time and hard work he put into completing his MBA!  And we are definitely looking forward to putting this chapter behind us, and having him around a bit more in the evenings!

Something Is Missing Here...

...and it is Miley's first tooth!

Miley has had a wiggly tooth for a couple of weeks, and last night it finally came out...after SHE pulled it out herself!  I was impressed, thinking that she would be too freaked out to do it, but it didn't even phase her!

The tooth fairy made a visit, and since it was her first tooth, Miley got a gold dollar and a five-dollar bill.  Hopefully she doesn't expect that much every time she loses a tooth...  ;)

....5, 6, 7, 8!

I have heard so much counting lately because we are in the thick of dance competition season!  I never knew something could be so crazy, but so fun.  :)

All year, Miley has been in a group called Showbiz Kids at her dance studio.  They have been learning and perfecting a dance all year, and it is finally time to show it off!  At the studio before competitions start, they put all the kids names who are competing on stars and hang them up in the studio.  Miley was thrilled to find hers.

Miley had her first competition last weekend.  She had soooo much fun, and wasn't shy at all!  I love watching her dance, and love that it is building so much confidence in her.  I don't think it is easy getting up in front of judges and dancing, but she acts like it's no big deal!

She loved getting all fancy with makeup and hair...she is ALL girl!

Love these action shots of her performing!

They ended up winning first place in their division, and 7th place high score in the larger division.  Dance scoring is confusing...I am still figuring it out.  But she was thrilled!  And one of the moms got these cute cookies for them to match their costumes!

This weekend was competition 2/3.  It was a little easier this time, now that we had done it once and knew what to expect!

They did really well, again, although with the funky way they announce scores and places, it was hard to tell.  I am pretty sure they got first in their smaller division again, and 9th high score of their larger division.  One of these days I will figure the scoring out!  Ha!

Next weekend is our last competition, then it is just back to the normal classes for a couple more weeks until recital weekend!  Phew!  These competitions are fun, but it will be nice to have a normal Saturday again??  :)  But the important part is Miley is loving it...and that is what matters.  And she looks pretty dang cute, although I am a bit biased!
