Catch up!

Well, this will be my first blog on my own posting my own pictures and such, so we will see how that goes. :) Not too much has been going on here lately. We have just been trying to settle down into a routine after all the traveling this summer. Miley is finally on some kind of a sleeping schedule-taking three regular naps a day, and going to bed at around 7:00 pm and waking up around 7:00 or 7:30 am (with a couple of wake ups in there of course!!). It is nice now to have some kind of predictability during the day. As for other updates about Miley, she has rolled over once, but has not repeated for a few weeks. She has started to laugh a lot more, and now we find ourselves trying to do whatever we can to hear it!

Lately the Minnesota weather has definitely been "fall-ish". Miley is still wearing her 0-3 months clothes, and we were expecting most of these clothes to just fit through the summer. Therefore, we have a lack of long sleeved tops for her. One chilly day she wore this adorable little hoodie dress. :)

Within the last couple of weeks, Miley has definitely "discovered" her hands. She is always staring at the them and holding them. This new discovery has also led to the realization of putting them in her mouth. Miley will no longer take her pacifier. She prefers her fingers much more. It is hard to find her without her fingers in her mouth anymore!!!

Fingers in the mouth...

And more fingers....

And again...

Finally no fingers!!

Well, that is all for now. This weekend we are going to an apple orchard, so I will try to blog again after that!!

Visit to Laramie

Miley and cousin Bode checking out the camera upside down
Cameron, Miley and I took our first trip back home since Miley has been born from August 21st to August 31st. Cameron only got to stay for the weekend and then had to head back to the cities for work. We went to Denver for a wedding of Cameron's best friend, Chris. After the crazy weekend, I got to go up to Laramie for a week and finally meet my nephew Bode. Miley and he had so much fun together, even though they probably weren't too sure what was going on, and we probably had more fun watching them together than anything.

Miley and Bode checking things out...

Bode and Miley on the playmat

Fortunately, Gelsey had every baby thing there imaginable so I was able to keep Miley entertained even though all of her stuff was at home. She especially liked Bode's playmat and his bouncer.

So cute....holding hands. :)

Miley with Grammy and a goofy smile....maybe the sun was too bright??

We were able to take Miley and Bode to their first Wyoming football game....especially fun since it was the first time Miley got to see where her Daddy played. They got all decked out in their Wyoming gear, and were ready to cheer for the Pokes....too bad Miley slept through the WHOLE game!!!

It was such a fun week....traveling was a little hard on Miley, and as a result she was a little cranky the whole week, but it was worth it. I am glad we all got to spend some time together and see the little tykes before they got too big! Can't wait to see everyone again at Christmas!!

More Miley Pics

Just a random update and some other pictures of Miley.....these two pictures were taken when Cameron took Miley out while I was at home suffering from my second infection. We thought she looked pretty cute in her sunhat and her oversize sunglasses!

Miley's hair is CRAZY!!! We love is right after a bath, because her hair is actually kind of curly. However, once her hair is dried and brushed, it straightens out. Miley loves her baths....

Happy 4th of July

Gelsey posted these pictures for me of Miley on her first Fourth of July. It was a pretty uneventful day early on...my mom left to go back to Laramie, and we just took it easy. However, later that afternoon I started to feel really sick. It turns out, I was getting the first of two infections of mastitis. Definitely one of the most unpleasant things I have ever felt! So, our Fourth of July celebrations consisted of us loading up and going to the ER just so I could get checked out and get an antibioitic. We were hoping to let Miley watch fireworks, but we ended up watching them as we were driving home at about 11:00 pm. Definitely one of the least fun Independence Days I have ever had, but Miley sure looked adorable in her Old Navy red, white and blue. Hopefully next year she will get a real Fourth of Jult celebration. :)

Miley's First Couple Weeks...

Miley coming home from the hospital

Well, as anyone who checks my blog knows, I definitely have not updated this in a while. My excuse is that we don't have the internet at our house, therefore I find it too much of a hassle to try to fit this in at the library. However, my sister, Gelsey, posted all of these pictures for me so I really have no excuses. :) Hopefully I can slowly get everyone caught up on our beautiful little girl, and the crazy, but fun summer we have had!!

Sleeping in the boppy first day home....

Notice in a lot of these pictures, Miley is sleeping....we sure miss these days!

Going to the airport to pick up Grammy....this was also the first time she had been in the carseat since coming home from the hospital.

Showing off her curly mane after a bath

Trying to decide what she thinks of her swing....she isn't too sure....

Sleeping on mom....at this point I was avoiding most pictures that actually showed me.

Hanging out on her aunt and uncle's couch

We can't believe how fast the time has gone already....looking at these pictures makes me realize how much Miley has grown in the last three months. Thanks Gelsey, for posting these and making me get on the ball!!

Happy Anniversary and Where Did My Hair Go???

Well, still no pictures today, but I thought I would give you an update of everything that has been going on in the past week or so!

Cameron and I celebrated our one year anniversary this last Monday, May 12. I can't believe it has already been a year! The time has been flying. To celebrate, we took a weekend trip to Duluth, MN which is right on Lake Superior. It was so much fun, despite the 45 degree weather and the 30 mph winds. :) Yes, it was freezing, but we still got out and walked a lot around the boardwalk and their cute little downtown area. We ate at a couple REALLY good restaurants, treated ourselves to some Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory treats, and watched boats come in. We also went to a pretty cool Maritime museum that talked about all the ship wrecks that had occured on Lake Superior, plus it had some fun exhibits of what cabins look like on the ships, and what the captain's headquarters looked like and things like that. We took some pictures, but due to my computer going crazy, and the fact that I look like a WHALE in most of the pics, I might post them later, or maybe not. We will see how I am feeling. :) All in all, it was a nice weekend, and it was so much fun to just take a weekend for ourselves.

As for some other news, as some of you know, I have had long hair for quite some time. On Tuesday, I CHOPPED it off! I was hoping for a couple inches longer, but it turned out to be between my chin and my shoulders with lots of layers. I cut off seven inches at the longest parts, and probably 9 or 10 at the shortest layers! It is taking some getting used to....I miss my long hair, and the ease of throwing it into a ponytail. But I guess it is always fun to have a little change, right?? Again, I will try to post some pictures of the haircut sometime soon....

That's all for now! I will try to update this more often, and get some pictures posted, as I know that is the REALLY fun part of a blog....
