24 Week Bump-date

Here it is...the 24-week belly in all it's glory (I can tell that I have definitely popped this week...ugh!).

Yes I have have my little picture buddy with me, and yes she is wearing part of her Halloween witch costume.  She won't take it off right now.  I. Love. Her.

So how am I feeling??  For the most part...GREAT!  Not too big, not sick, energy is OK, etc.

I am still having back pain pretty consistently, and working out is getting more uncomfortable.  I just do the eliptical a few times a week, but when I do, my belly just feels HeAvY!  You know what I mean??

I really can't believe that I am already 24 weeks!  I don't know if I have said this before, but this second pregnancy is going by SO MUCH FASTER than my pregnancy with Miley.  We are getting excited to meet little man....now I just need to start doing some shopping!  :)

Fall Walks

As I have mentioned in a previous post, we have been having some BEAUTIFUL fall weather up here.  To take advantage, we have been taking a lot of walks in the evening.  Miley loves going out and looking for and listening for (by cupping her hand around her ear) airplanes.  She also loves checking out all the little trees and bushes, although they are starting to look a little sad with no leaves these days.

The weather this last week has been c-o-l-d so we haven't gotten to go walking as much, but we have sure enjoyed it while it lasted!

Here are some pictures from a walk about a week ago...Miley was having fun posing with the little bushes, and carrying her pink purse.  :)

PS...Miley is such a poser these days...anytime the camera comes out she stops whatever she is doing and gives us a big "CHEEEESE!"  I love it...

Goodbye fall...come back and visit us again soon!

You Know You Are Putting On Weight When...

...your 6-year-old nephew says,

"Wendy, after you have the baby you should join the fat contest."

Time to start doing double time at the gym.  :)

I couldn't help but laugh.

Routine

I feel like I have fallen off the blog-o-sphere.

I really WANT to blog, it has just been one of those months where everything has been....you know...ROUTINE.  We have been having fun, and enjoying the beautiful fall that we are having up here, but haven't really done much in terms of taking pictures, or anything that seems blog-worthy.  You know what I mean??

So what have we been up to this month??

Well, we started out the month with Cameron going on a 6 day business trip to Pittsburgh.  It didn't really need to be that long, but he extended it through a weekend, so he could spend some time with his brother and his family who live there.  I thought about tagging along with Miley, but with the cost of tickets, and with the holiday season traveling and spending coming quickly, we thought we would just hang out here.  It was a LONG 6 days, but we survived, and were very excited to have Cameron back home!  My sister-in-law, Amy, sent some pictures of his time there.  Cameron adores his nieces and nephews, and I think it is safe to say that feeling is mutual.  I love how good my husband is with kids.  :)

Cameron's parents came up right after Cameron got back from his business trip for a long weekend to be here for Cameron's nephew, Collin's, Eagle Scout Court of Honor.  We had a fun time with them, eating out at some yummy restaurants, and swimming in their hotel pool.  It was a quick visit, but we were glad they made it out here.  Miley sure enjoyed having her Grandpa and Grandma around (and we did too, of course!)  There are some great swimming pictures around, but I may have to add them later after I wrangle them out of my father-in-law!

We also welcomed a new nephew and a new niece this month (born about 8 hours apart!).  We have only seen them in pictures so far, but we love them already.  :)  I wish we could live close to all of our family and be there for everyone's big events!

Other than that, we have been spending lots of time at the gym (I am TRYING to keep this baby weight at bay!), playgroups at the park, and taking nice walks at night in the crisp fall air.

Looking back at this post, I guess our month has had some exciting moments...I think my lack of picture taking is the real culprit in my blogging absence (note...all of these pictures are from family members!).

The next few weeks should be jam packed with lots of fun activities and picture-taking opportunities (if I can get my hiney in gear and take those pictures!)...Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc.  Can't wait for all the fun!

21 Week Bump-date

Well, I was going to post a 20 week update, but that came and went, and so I am doing 21 weeks this time.  I am a couple days late on this too, but you get the idea.  :)

I am definitely getting BIGGER!  I am starting to feel our little guy move more and more, but not as much as I thought I would be at this point...

Other than that, I have been having pretty constant lower back pain, but can't complain about anything else!  I am wearing a mix of maternity and non-maternity clothes, and am starting to feel the itch to do a little bit of shopping to make this part of it a little more fun.

Oh, and we have a name picked out, BUT Cameron likes to keep it on the DL until D-Day (too many D's there??) so I guess you will all just have to wait until that time!

Love/Hate

Some things that I am loving and hating (or at least really disliking) right now:

Love:  That fall is really here...perfect weather, pretty colors.  Love it.
Hate:  That winter is coming...SOON!

Love:  Miley's sweet little kiss marathons that she gives me (MA MA MA MA MA....her kissing sounds as she is holding my face).
Hate:  Fighting with Miley every morning to get her dressed (Any advice from you more experienced moms out there??  I give her options, make sure her clothes are comfy, etc.  She would just rather stay in her PJ's).

Love:  That I am starting to feel baby boy move more.
Hate:  That I am starting to get much bigger.  I am not a cute little pregnant girl.  I get huge.  And I had just gotten back to a weight/shape that I was comfortable with before I got pregnant with this little guy.  Oh well.  Hopefully I can get back to it quickly after he is born, right?

Love:  There is only EIGHT more weeks until I got home for the holidays.
Hate:  I am not going to see Cameron for probably about three weeks during that time.  :(

Love:  That we are still in an apartment.  We can call someone anytime we need something fixed, I am not too concerned about keeping it perfect in Miley's wake, etc.  Plus, if Cam goes to grad school sometime soon, it will make it easy to move.
Hate:  That I don't have a house where I can decorate for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, decorate a nursery, have a yard, and walk right in the door from getting groceries.  I know, I know...we could probably at least decorate for the holidays, but with a lack of storage space and lots of moving, we just haven't really stocked up on cute decorations yet.

Love:  Candy corn.
Hate:  Candy corn (because I eat way too much).

In general, there are many more things that I LOVE than I HATE.  Totally random post...I know.  This is what happens when you start going a little crazy after being on your own for a few days.  ;)  Don't HATE me...har har.

A Very Belated Birthday Post...

Last week, on September 24th, we celebrated Cameron's 27th birthday (hope he doesn't mind me saying that...when does it become taboo to tell someone's age??)!  It was very, very low-key, per Cameron's request.

Miley and I went to to the General Mills campus to visit Cam for lunch.  This is only the second time we have done that since he started working there in January, and Miley loved running around and exploring Daddy's office (literally...at one point I was chasing her through the dining room/area where you buy your food and she was darting behind all the counters...I think everyone there was wondering who this little girl belonged to that was causing such a ruckus, and I was just a *little* embarrassed).  :)

That afternoon, Cameron took off from work a little early and got to go golfing at a really nice course in town.  He had a lot of fun doing that, but didn't get home till almost 8:00.  I kept Miley up to sing Happy Birthday and have a small piece of carrot cake with him.  That was the ONLY thing Cameron requested for his birthday, was a homemade carrot cake, so I made him one, and I have to say, I don't think it turned out half bad.  ;)

After Miley helped Cameron blow out the candles and eat some cake, we put her to bed, and watched a movie.

Like I said, very low-key, but Cameron has been EXTREMELY busy with work, and other commitments lately, and I think hope it was just what he wanted.

We sure love this guy, and love getting to celebrate him every year.  Hopefully he knows EVERY day how much we love and appreciate him, and not just on his birthday.  :)
